Costco Aeroplan in Canada: can you still earn points at Costco, and which cards work
Costco stopped offering Aeroplan points on Costco.ca purchases on April 30, 2020, and every Aeroplan credit card in Canada is a Visa or American Express, so none works in Costco warehouses. You can still redeem Aeroplan points for Costco Shop Cards and memberships, and use an Aeroplan Visa on Costco.ca and at Costco Travel.

Costco Aeroplan earning ended on April 30, 2020: Costco says it "no longer offers Aeroplan Miles on Costco.ca purchases", though points earned before then weren't affected. Today the link between Costco and Aeroplan runs one way: you can redeem Aeroplan points for Costco Shop Cards and Costco memberships on the Aeroplan site. And because every Aeroplan credit card in Canada is a Visa or American Express, none of them works in a Canadian Costco warehouse or gas station, which take Mastercard. Should you redeem Aeroplan points for Costco Shop Cards?
You can, but check the value first. Shop Cards are Costco credit at face value, so compare how many points a $100 Shop Card costs on the Aeroplan site with what the same points would cover on a flight. What should Aeroplan collectors use at Costco?
Two cards. Keep your Aeroplan Visa for flights, travel and Costco.ca if you prefer points, and carry a Mastercard for the warehouse and gas station. Can you book Air Canada flights through Costco Travel with Aeroplan?
