The Costco price adjustment policy in Canada gives you the difference back if the price drops within 30 days of your purchase: at the membership counter for warehouse purchases, or through an online form for Costco.ca orders. Our advice: check every big purchase against the next month of prices; on a TV or appliance the difference can easily pay for your membership.
Most people miss adjustments because they don't see the drop. That is what our receipt checker and price alerts are for.
How long do you have to ask for a price adjustment?
30 days. For warehouse purchases it is 30 days from the date you bought; for Costco.ca it applies when the price changes within 30 days after your order.
How do you get a price adjustment on a warehouse purchase?
1. Keep your receipt and note the purchase date.
2. Watch the price for 30 days, in the warehouse or in the monthly savings.
3. If it drops, go to the membership counter while the item is still in stock and the lower price is still running.
4. Costco refunds the difference.
The conditions matter: Costco's policy requires the item to be in stock (demonstration units don't count) and the request to fall within the valid promotional dates. If the sale has ended, you have missed it.
How do you get a price adjustment on a Costco.ca order?
Use the price adjustment form on Costco.ca. Costco.ca credits the difference between what you paid and the current lower Costco.ca price if you ordered within 30 days before the price changed. Credits usually take 5 to 7 business days, go back to your original payment method, and are processed only after the order ships.
What is not eligible for a price adjustment?
- Gold and silver bars and bullion
- All gift cards and live event tickets
- On Costco.ca: promotions such as Spend & Get and Buy More and Save More may not qualify, and resellers are not eligible for promotional pricing
Does Costco price match other stores?
No. Costco.ca's policy says it does not adjust to other retailers' prices, or to warehouse prices for online orders. An adjustment only works against Costco's own lower price on the same channel you bought from.
Is it worth the trip to the membership counter?
For anything over about $100, usually yes: a typical instant saving of 10% to 20% is $10 to $20 or more back. For small items, wait until your next visit, as long as it is within the 30 days.
